Is it really free?
Yes. vpnpick is free and needs no sign-up. A premium plan with extra features will come later — the free version stays.
How safe is it?
Your traffic is always encrypted, our tests show no IP, DNS or WebRTC leaks, and if the connection drops the internet is blocked. As with any VPN, the server your traffic goes through can see which sites you connect to, but not the contents of HTTPS pages. For sensitive tasks, turn on double protection.
Why does Windows warn me during installation?
The installer isn't signed with a paid certificate yet, so SmartScreen shows “Windows protected your PC”. Click “More info” → “Run anyway”. You can verify the file with the SHA-256 on the download page.
Why does it need administrator rights?
All-traffic mode creates a system tunnel, which Windows only allows for administrators. Proxy mode needs no extra rights.
Is it as fast as paid VPNs?
Speed depends on the country and network load. vpnpick picks the fastest connection itself, and you can switch servers with one button.
Is there a version for phones and Mac?
The Mac beta is already out — grab it on the download page. Android is in development, iPhone comes next. Chrome and Edge already have an extension.
